New Delhi: Aadhaar Face Authentication has reached an unprecedented milestone with 19.36 crore transactions recorded in July 2025, marking a massive leap from 5.77 crore in the same month last year.
The surge underlines the growing adoption of the AI-driven, contactless identity verification system across India’s public and private sectors.
On July 1, 2025, the platform achieved its highest-ever single-day performance with over 1.22 crore transactions, breaking the previous record of 1.07 crore set in March 2025. The July figures also registered a 22% growth over June, indicating steady momentum.

Expanding Use Across Sectors
Currently, more than 150 entities – including central government departments, state ministries, financial institutions, oil marketing companies, and telecom service providers – are leveraging Aadhaar Face Authentication for secure and seamless service delivery.
The technology is fully integrated with the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), enabling 13.66 lakh eligible beneficiaries in July to access social security benefits safely and contactlessly.
Additionally, all 850 medical colleges under the National Medical Commission (NMC) have adopted face authentication for faculty and student attendance tracking.
Prominent recruitment bodies such as the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) are also using it for candidate registration and verification.

Aadhaar Face Authentication: Boost to Digital Governance and Ease of Living
In total, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) recorded 221 crore Aadhaar authentication transactions in July – a 3.8% year-on-year increase.
Aadhaar e-KYC transactions reached 39.56 crore, playing a pivotal role in enhancing customer experience and supporting ease of doing business, particularly in the banking and NBFC sectors.
Officials emphasised that the rise in Aadhaar Face Authentication usage reflects its role as a facilitator for efficient welfare delivery and voluntary access to a growing range of digital services – reinforcing its position as a cornerstone of India’s digital identity ecosystem.
